Dr Jorgensen recently met with Dr Peter Thaller, a German surgeon, based in Munich and at the Berlin Bethel Hospital in March 2026. The discussion revolved around the use of intramedullary nails and their uses in both limb lengthening surgery and also in the role of bone defect management, and non-unions. The conversation and ability to discuss complex limb reconstruction techniques, with novel solutions was highly valuable. Dr Thaller treats many patients in the Berlin and Munich area, and was very interested in the trauma surgery demands in South-East Queensland as well as the limb reconstruction techniques employed.
