Dr Jorgensen completed his Orthopaedic training throughout Queensland and in the United States.

Dr Jorgensen is an Australian trained Orthopaedic Surgeon with a commitment to excellence in Lower Limb Surgery. He graduated from The University of Queensland in 2009 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery.  Dr Nicholas Jorgensen has advanced training and subspecialty interests in Primary & Revision Arthroplasty, Limb Reconstruction, Pelvic and General Trauma and Foot and Ankle surgery.

In 2020 Dr Jorgensen completed his Orthopaedic training throughout Queensland and an in- training Clinical Fellowship at the Shriners Hospital For Children, Portland USA.  He has gained post-fellowship training in Complex Trauma and Limb Reconstruction Surgery from the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Brisbane and Foot and Ankle reconstruction surgery from Prince of Wales Hospital, Sydney. Dr Jorgensen is also passionate about providing care to developing countries, having spent time in Fiji for Orthopaedic Outreach.

Dr Jorgensen has a public appointment at the Princess Alexandra Hospital and is also an Associate Lecturer at the University of Queensland. He is actively involved in research in the areas of Orthopaedic Trauma and Limb Reconstruction; with a focus on quantifying bone defects and reconstructive techniques, compound trauma outcomes and outcomes in hip/knee arthroplasty. Dr Jorgensen is involved in teaching trainee orthopaedic surgeons,  junior doctors and medical students and find mentoring the next generation of surgeons rewarding.

Dr Jorgensen is passionate about research and believes it is vital to improving outcomes in his patients. He has published extensively and presented at national and international meetings.
