Dr Jorgensen was part of a research team that has recently published an article in the American Society for Microbiology Journal – “Advancing the management of prosthetic joint infections: a review of randomised controlled trials and emerging evidence“. Dr Jorgensen has an interest in complex and revision joint replacements, and this can occasionally be for the reason of underlying infection. The management of these situations can be challenging, lengthly, expensive and can affect the quality of life on individual patients. Dr Jorgensen has an interest in assisting in challenging clinical cases (and ensuring excellent outcomes in all joint replacement surgery), and involvement with research forms an important part of this interest.
“The hardworking and experience of my co-authors has been invaluable. Dr Burcu Isler, as lead author has been the driving force of this publication and furthering research in South East Queensland.”
